Here we have my buddy Orlando Ortiz, former lead singer of the New Swing Sextet, with his newly formed orchestra Karibe Mambo. The band’s first single off their upcoming album release is titled “Marcame El Pasito”, and all indications are that this dance floor burner will soon be a favorite amongst all Salsero’s across the Salsa nation.
Orlando sent me two promos which he composed and I had a hard time deciding which track I should use for my review. So far everything that I have heard from this soon-to-be-released CD, entitled At Full Swing, is awesome! I can hardly wait until I get my hands on the full project.
Carlos and co. are currently working on a album release party to be held in New York City sometime in April. Be on the look out for their new project when it drops.
I highly recommend this CD, and consider it a definite must add to your Salsa collection. DJs wake up and don’t fall asleep on this hot new production!
