Review: Ralphy Santi Y Su Conjunto – Ansias (Paquito Guzman)

Aloha NewGenSalsa Peeps!

Tito Allen, Ray Sepulveda, Paquito Guzman, Hector Tricoche, Moncho Rivera, Eddie Melendez, Choco Orta, Chuito DeJesus & Nelson “El Varon” Cordero. What do all of these legendary singers have in common? Give up? They are all the invited singers on the latest release by Ralphy Santi y Su Conjunto called “Homenaje al Bailador.”

There is no filler salsa in this entire CD with 11 cuts full of “salsa de la mata!” Produced by Ernie Acevedo (Conjunto Imagen) and Augusto Onna (Joe Quijano Orquesta), this session also features flautist Mauricio Smith Jr., trombonists Angel “Coqui” Lebron and Junior Rivera as well as trumpeters Miguel Rodriguez and Pete Nater.

I could write all kinds of superlatives about this project but the most important thing you need to know about it is that it has to be in your music library. This project is one of the best releases of 2012 and quite frankly I have it in my Top 10 already.

Aloha and until next time,
