Review: “Salsa Pa’l Mundo Entero” Ray Rodriguez Y Swing Sabroso

Liner Notes By Lino Iglesias

When Sax Player & Orchestra Director Ray Rodriguez, founded the group”Swing Sabroso” in the year 2000, his intention was to create a band of optimal musical quality for the enjoyment of the most demanding dancers & listeners of modern Salsa worldwide, in the same fashion as his teenage idols; Eddie Palmieri, Ray Barretto & Tito Puente did during the 70’s & 80’s.

After attaining a considerable amount of success with his first album entitled “Baila Con Swing Sabroso” in 2005, Ray decided to embark in his second production in the year 2012, with the pre-released of a single entitled “Salsa Pa’l Mundo Entero” (Salsa for the World”, track that posted in the top 10 positions in many national & international Hit Parades, including the #1 position in the famous Salsa website NewGenSalsa.com.

Unfortunately, in the year 2012, Ray had to pause his new production because of the sudden passing of his adored wife Perla, to whom he dedicated the song entitled “Mi Perla De Amor” (My Pearl of Love), in a beautiful posthumous homage to the woman who was the Love of his life and Mother of his Daughters.

It wasn’t until the end of the year 2014, that he could reunite his musicians & production team to finish his new album, that Ray named “Salsa Pa’l Mundo Entero” which will be surely celebrated by National & International Salsa lovers because of it’s “Swing Sabroso” and super high musical quality.

In this dynamic production there is Salsa for all the different tastes within the genre’s landscape, for those that prefer Hard Salsa, you have the spicy tunes “Salsa Pa’l Mundo Entero”, ” El Hijo Del Tambor”, La Musica”, “No Quiero Nada”, with a lot of street flavor and the Ray Barretto classic “Nadie Se Salva De La Rumba”, and for all those who prefer Romantic Salsa, there’s the poetic tunes”Enamorado De Ti”, “All of Me”, which is a John Legend cover and “Perla De Amor,” vocalized by the young Soneros-from Puerto Rico, Angel Rios, and from Peru, Fernando Pinto-with great feeling and swing.

It’s been definitely proven that with Ray Rodriguez, together with his stellar singers and all the members of the orchestra, there is Swing Sabroso with Salsa For The Whole World and also the Universe, for today and years to come.

We are happy to have “Ray Rodriguez Y Swing Sabroso” as part of our NewGenSalsa family.
