Review: The Spanish Harlem Orchestra

Well it’s finally here the highly anticipated Spanish Harlem Orchestra’s new CD entitled what else “Spanish Harlem Orchestra”. This is the two time Grammy winners fifth studio CD which features nine new banging arrangements of which three are covers. They also feature one of my personal favorite jazz pianist Chick Corea and saxophonist Joe Lovano on track number 12 “You And The Night And The Music” which is smokin’.

With this cast of excellent vocalists such as Ray De La Paz, Marco Bermudez and Carlos Cascante it is no doubt this will make this another must have CD by this monster orchestra led by Mr. Hernandez. The track I’m featuring is called “Asi Se Vive” which features mi panita Luisito Quintero taking a vicious timbale solo. This song has the makings of a NYC anthem and dance floor favorite. This is just one of many favorites of mine on this superb production.

This CD is highly recommended by me and a must add to your Salsa collection. Yo! DJs you know what time it is “SHO time”.
