Review: Edwin Perez “Street Corner Chronicles (Crónicas De Esquina”

NewGenSalsa Presents:

Edwin Perez
Street Corner Chronicles (Crónicas De Esquina)
Released 2019

It is an honor for me to introduce this new production by this young man (Edwin Perez) whom I have the utmost respect for. His talent speaks for itself whether it be vocally and/or lyrically he has shown for several years that he’s an artist to be reckoned with. He is amongst the best at what he does and to me arguably the best in the 21st Century.

His music deals with social issues that people deal with around the world on the daily basis. Which he mentioned on his first single “Guerrero” which talks about the people that march and fight for their rights and should never accept injustice.

The second single “Mi Tierra” is one of many favs from this production. He sings about our beautiful “Isla Del Encanto” where he and I were born. It’s very hard for me to listen to this track without my emotions filtering throughout my body and glowing with pride to be a Boricua. This track also features one of the best percussionist in the business “Luisito Quintero” (Ya Me canse De este frio, Ahora me voy pa’ Mi Tierra).…Aguaaa!

I added one the tracks I talked about “Mi Tiera” for your listening and dancing pleasure. …Just pick it up and you’ll see and feel what I’m talking about. I highly recommend you add it to your Salsa collection and as usual to my DJ Brothers. You all know what time it is. A must add to your DJ arsenal

Edwin te la comiste Papa! You picked up where you left off on your previous production…Nothing But Swing.
