Review: 3D Ritmo De Vida “Oyelo”

Here we have 3D Ritmo de Vida’s second full length release, Que Siga La Rumba, and it’s even better than their first.  Featuring a virtual who’s who of salsa veterans, percussionist Michael Tate delivers some swinging Salsa jams suitable for both the airwaves and dance floors.  This recording has plenty to offer and will most certainly satisfy anyone’s musical palate.

Old school Salsa, lyrics in English and Spanish, Son Montuno and even a ballad for the lovers in da house, this album is truly a “banquet of salsa”!  Legendary sonero Herman Olivera leads the vocals, along with some of New York City’s finest coristas and many of the best “first call” musicians in the industry. When I first received this CD in 2008 it couldn’t find it’s way out of my CD player, and it remains a crowd favorite when I play it in the clubs or on the radio.

This is project is an absolute must have for all working DJ’s.  Even four years after its release these songs still pack a punch!

My personal album favorites are “Oyelo” (featured above), “Son Montuno Pa’ Dos” and “Mi Amor Eterno”.
